About Debaser

Since establishing in 2013, Debaser has become one of Ottawa’s leading independent and underground music and arts presenters, best known for its thoughtfully-curated, diverse programming, and care-oriented approach.

Our primary activity is programming, producing and promoting music and arts events, but we have also released compilation albums, produced multidisciplinary projects, hosted discussions, created web art, made radio and published zines.

Debaser is an incorporated nonprofit organization whose mandate is to support and exhibit underrepresented creative artists.

Safer Spaces Statement

Attendees, artists and staff are expected to act with respect for one another. Violence, aggression, oppressive behaviour, or bullying will not be tolerated. If you are currently implicated in an accountability process, please ensure you are respecting the space and well-being of those affected before coming to a Debaser event.

Accessibility Statement

Debaser strives to ensure digital accessibility across our websites and social media channels. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone, and applying the relevant accessibility standards based off of WCAG 2.1.

We have included UserWay’s widget, but also regularly scan debaser.ca with UserWay's Accessibility Scanner to identify and fix every possible accessibility barrier on our site. Despite our efforts to make all pages and content on debaser.ca fully accessible, some content may not have yet been fully adapted to the strictest accessibility standards. This may be a result of not having found or identified the most appropriate technological solution. We are also reassessing the Pique website thisispique.com to adhere to these standards.

If you are experiencing difficulty with any content on debaser.ca or require assistance with any part of our site, please contact us at hello@debaser.ca

We appreciate your patience with us.
