Nick Schofield is a musician and producer with a degree in Electroacoustic Studies from Concordia University. He is an engaged community-oriented collaborator working with artists on stages and in studios across Canada. In concert, Nick Schofield has performed at National Sawdust in New York City, the Getty Center in Los Angeles, the Ottawa Jazz Festival and MUTEK Montreal, and has previously opened for Sarah Davachi, Angel Olsen, Colin Stetson, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Bing & Ruth and Hauschka.
As a solo musician, Nick Schofield releases instrumental ‘environmental music' via the Backward Music label. His calming compositions invite tranquility and release, offering softness and simplicity. His sophomore album Glass Gallery (2021) channels inspiration from the architecture and artwork of the National Gallery of Canada. Reflecting on this work, journalist Jesse Locke commented that Nick Schofield has “emerged as a dazzling electronic artist.”
