Schedule: The Operations Manager is required to be on-site for work on June 11, 2022 in Ottawa; otherwise the Operations Manager will make their own schedule and work remotely.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Operations Manager will coordinate and manage front of house operations for multiple box offices, bars and merchandise tables for the summer edition of Pique, Debaser’s music and arts festival series, on June 11, 2022 at the Arts Court and Ottawa Art Gallery.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage systems for multiple points of sale at event box offices, bars and merchandise tables, including tracking sales and inventory, estimating and distributing cash floats, developing and supervising opening and closing procedures, and recording small on-site cash payments
Supervise overall event capacity monitoring and act as point of contact for security and volunteers at ingress points
Train and supervise box office and merch table volunteers
Supervise bar service staff and facilitate bar set-ups and tear downs
Assist Executive Director with planning and implementing on-site signage and pageantry displays
Assist Executive Director with identifying and procuring supplies and inventory needed for event
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
2+ years experience in management or supervision in event or festival production, customer service, sales, retail, bar service, or other relevant field
Experience with Excel and/or Google sheets, Eventbrite, and Square
Ability to lead a team, delegate and communicate effectively
Highly organized and detail oriented
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced high-pressure work environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to lift heavy objects, stand and walk for long periods of time
Interest in supporting an anti-oppressive harassment-free team working environment
Use of own computer and phone are required
