Anishinaabe-Algonquin land - May 30, 2024
We are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with Dominion City Brewing Company to enhance sustainability efforts at Pique. The collaboration introduces a reusable eco-cup initiative, featuring a unique design by Ottawa artist Najeeba Ahmed, the graphic designer responsible for Pique’s striking visual identity.
This initiative underscores Debaser's commitment to reduce single-use plastic waste at Pique, and launches at the Pique summer edition on June 8, 2024. With an expected attendance of over 5,000 people at Pique events in 2024, the impact of this program will be substantial.
Locally brewed Dominion City beer and seltzer products will be available across four bar service areas at Pique.
Details:
Design: The eco-cup features a design by Najeeba Ahmed, the Ottawa-born, Montreal-based designer behind Pique’s striking 2023-2024 visual identity. The design reflects the vibrant and eclectic artistic offerings at Pique and Debaser events.
Functionality: Made from durable, BPA-free materials, the eco-cup is not only environmentally friendly but also practical and reusable.
Distribution: Attendees can get the eco-cup at all service points throughout the Arts Court during Pique. A small deposit will be added to your first purchase, and can be returned to any service point for a deposit refund.
Attending Pique: Tickets to Pique are pay-what-you-can, and admission is all ages. Advance tickets are available online.
"We are thrilled to partner with Dominion City Brewing Company for this initiative," said Rachel Weldon, Director of Debaser. "Their dedication to supporting creativity and sustainability in the arts scene aligns perfectly with our mission to create space for inspiration and social impact through the arts. By introducing reusable eco-cups and reducing the use of plastic, we are taking a significant step towards reducing our ecological footprint."
”Partnering with Debaser is an exciting step in encouraging sustainability with the use of new eco-cups,” said Dominion City Events and Experiences Coordinator Sierra Chapman. “Their impact to communities with music, inclusivity, and artist representation is standout in the Ottawa scene and beyond. Pique is an important event and we’re ecstatic to be involved.”
Pique attendees can look forward to not only enjoying great music, art, and local craft beer but also contributing to a greener future. For more information, please contact:
