Position type: Part-time short-term employment; remote/on-site for projects

Remuneration: $19/hour
Schedule: 12 hours per week
Length of contract: 22 weeks
Note: Candidates must be willing to use their own computer, phone, and basic office supplies for the position.
Background
Since establishing in 2013, Debaser has become one of Ottawa’s leading independent and underground music presenters, best known for its experimental music curation and inclusive events. Our primary activity is curating, producing and promoting music and arts events, but we have also released compilation albums, produced multidisciplinary projects, hosted discussions, created web art, made radio and published zines. Debaser is an incorporated nonprofit organization whose mandate is to support and exhibit underrepresented creative artists.
Reporting to the Producer, the Administrative Coordinator supports the administrative and logistical coordination of Debaser’s ongoing projects.
Eligibility
As determined by Canada Summer Jobs, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Based in the Ottawa/Gatineau region;
Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
Be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
Be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
Roles and responsibilities
Supporting the Program Manager in program coordination, including liaising with artists and coordinating travel, hospitality and accommodations
Coordination of marketing and promotion activities, including managing production timelines, coordinating marketing budget spends, and organizing information and media
Social media coordination, including development of posting schedule and content, development and management of communications and response strategies, and regular engagement with online community
Supporting the Producer in event production, including coordinating with venue operators, booking and communicating with production personnel, and coordinating equipment rentals
Volunteer coordination, including recruitment, orientation and training, and on-site supervision of volunteers
Development and dissemination of outreach materials related to Debaser programs
Analyzing the impact of marketing and communications initiatives and preparing reports and recommendations for team members
Various other related tasks that arise
Ideal Qualifications
Strong communication skills, including proficiency with writing
Organized and detail-oriented and able to work independently
Strong time/project management abilities
Experience producing creative or community projects and/or events on a small to medium scale
Experience with and understanding of major social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, etc.)
Experience with Google applications, including Google Docs, Sheets, and Forms
Experience with adding, maintaining and updating web content on hosting platforms such as Squarespace, Cargo, and/or Wordpress
Intermediate reading, writing and oral communication skills in French; fluency in French is an asset
Interest in supporting an anti-racist, anti-oppressive, non-authoritarian team working environment
